Back to the 'Boro!

For a change of scenery while we were spending so much time at the river, I took the kids to Murfreesboro. This is were I went to college, MTSU. We met some of my friends from college for lunch at my favorite mexican restaurant. It was great to see my friends and take a little road trip! It was fun to drive around town and see how much things have changed and stayed the same! The Kids needed something a little extra to make the day complete. I took them to a great playground named Kid's Castle. Not somewhere I visited much in college!

We had a great Friday in the 'Boro and then headed back to the river for a great weekend!

Fishin' Family...

We love to go fishing off the docks at the river. Let's clarify though, Mom only kinda
likes to fish when Dad is there to help. Dad is great at helping bait the hook with worms and take the fish off the hook. Mom is not good with all the technical stuff that goes along with fishing! Mom does love watching the kids have fun and seeing their reaction.

Landon is learning the in and outs of fishing quickly!

We love how he sets the hook! Looks like he is reeling in something BIG!

Allie Ruth loves her Barbie pole and has already caught quite a few keepers!

Fourth of July...

We spent the fourth of July weekend at the river with family, friends and fun!

Allie Ruth rode on the tube for the first time and really liked it!

She is really getting comfortable in the water and loving it!

We watched plenty of fireworks shows! We went on a boat ride to watch them by the Mermaid on Saturday and down by our part of the river on Sunday night!

Zoo Day...

Hmmm... Its 95+ degrees in Memphis, what should we do??
Since we have a membership to the zoo, I thought it would be fun to just pop in. Some areas where really hot, but for the most part, it felt nice. And the animals were out and being really playful!  We had a lot of fun and stayed for about 2 hours, just enough to wear you out for a change.

Your eyes were glued to the animals!

We feed the birds at the "birds and bees" exhibit!

Allie Ruth was a little unsure, of course. You did well until the birds would fly off!

Landon loved it!

The birds were really fun, but I missed the butterflies!

and the day is not complete...

without ice cream!!

A morning at Meme's!

We went over to Meme's for a visit yesterday morning. The kids love to see Meme and love on their cat that they have named Butterfly.

We picked blueberries. Meme has a huge row of blueberry bushes that are filled with berries.

Allie Ruth picked a few green ones!

Landon picked some of his tomatoes!

Thanks Meme!

Three Musketeers!

We have been spending a lot of time together at the river, every morning Landon would say "we are like the three musketeers, right Momma?" We are having fun, but the other two musketeers are wearing me out!   Some of the things we have been up to are...

Boat rides and swimming in the river and at the community center...

Eating yummy food and having picnics...

Playing at the park...

A little fussiness...

But lots of sweetness!!

Looking for fossils and...

resting and relaxing!

It must be rough!

Happy Father's Day!

We spent Father's Day at the River with Anna and Dee and some friends. We tried to surprise Kelly with his gift, but Landon was a little over the top about it and Kelly caught on! He still loved his surprise. The best was the card that Landon filled out at school about Kelly! Kelly spent the morning working around the  cabin and then we went out on the boat. The kids love playing with him in the water. Landon's favorite is when Dad throws him  up in the air and he flips into the water.

We hope Kelly had a great day! He is a wonderful Dad and we are so lucky to have him!!
